If anyone out there is considering buying a Mercury 40hp efi outboard motor. I would say quot;buyer bewarequot;. I own a 2004 model year and it's had issues every year since I bought it including recalls and other quot;electricalquot; issues. I've contacted Mercury and they don't seem to care.
Consider any other manufacturer Evinrude, Yamaha, Suzuki. I've contated Mercury twice by email without hearing back.
BUY ANY OTHER BRAND!!!
